About This Journal

The Journal of Applied Educational Research and Evaluation (JAERE) is an open-access scholarly journal dedicated to publishing original scholarly work that advances educational research, theory, policy, and practice.

Published by the College of Education at Northern Illinois University, JAERE serves as a venue for rigorous empirical, theoretical, methodological, and applied scholarship that addresses issues in education.

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Manuscripts are evaluated on the basis of originality and significance, methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, relevance to educational research and practice, and clarity and quality of writing.

Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal the right of first publication.

All articles are published online and made freely accessible through Northern Illinois University's institutional repository, Huskie Commons. Published articles are distributed under a Creative Commons license that allows authors to retain copyright while promoting accessibility and scholarly impact.
