Abstract
Transmigration is the spiritual concept said to be the migration of a soul into a new body. The natural and found items act as the soul elements of my work, which are transformed into new existences and made precious. As a maker, I view my practice spiritually, in terms of collection of material from the natural world and through the process of creating. Academically, I’m interested in the history of adornment, anthropology, alchemy, and science related to the field of jewelry and metalsmithing. These topics, along with formal interest, result in works that I hope are rich, earthy, and honest.
