Abstract

Amorphous samples of Fe₈₀B₂₀-type thin films prepared by evaporation and sputtering have been investigated by conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy at room temperature. The spectra obtained are compared with spectra for fast-liquid-quenched alloys (metallic glasses) of the same compositions. It is found that the films tend to be more amorphous than the fast-liquid-quenched samples.
