Abstract
Learned men have said that the solution to all problems is understanding. Today many people are viewing the future with alarm. In our own country for instance we feel the black clouds of war hanging over our heads. We are concerned about the institution of marriage with its increasing divorce rate. We are ever increasing crime rate, racial discriminations and mental illnesses taking place. It is evident that the product# of our schools ----the present adult population ----do not have the personal security, the knowledge end the know how to direct their lives for full satisfaction or to solve the many problems which threaten the existence of our civilization. Therefore it is quite apparent that the present day schools must once again try to help solve these problems. In the face of such enormities, the average teacher feels powerless and fails to see what he as an individual can do. Be wholeheartedly subscribes to the idea that education should meet human needs but finds it difficult to state exactly what those needs are and how the present conventional curriculum can be revised to gain a better human product and liveable community and world.
