Effective decision-making by school administrators is crucial for enhancing student

learning outcomes. However, many non-finance administrators need a comprehensive

understanding of school funding and allocation, which can hinder their ability to make informed decisions that positively impact student learning. This paper explored the importance of preparing non-finance administrators specifically those at the “Participating Community Consolidated School District” (PCCSD)to navigate the complexities of school funding and allocation processes. It highlighted the implications of inadequate understanding of finance related matters on decision-making and student learning outcomes. Drawing upon relevant literature, this paper proposed strategies to empower non-finance administrators with the necessary knowledge and skills to make sound financial decisions that prioritize student learning.

These strategies included targeted training programs, one page recap of account structures, a power point presentation on Finance 101, and collaborative efforts between the CSBO and nonfinance administrators. By equipping our non-finance administrators with the appropriate tools and knowledge needed to comprehend school funding and allocation processes, this paper aimed to foster a culture of informed decision-making that ultimately enhances student learning experiences and outcomes.
