Abstract
This paper looks at the problem of determining original room function in the prehistoric pueblos of the American south west. Four examples from past archaeological excavations are examined to help set up a basis for the determination of room use for roomblock 15, rooms 1, 2, and 3 at Pueblo Blanco (LA 40), New Mexico. Along with the examples from past excavations, other factors unique to Pueblo Blanco, roomblock 15, rooms 1, 2, and 3 were also used to assist in determining original room function.
