Abstract

The aim of this project was to provide an accessible multimedia resource for Physical Therapy students enrolled in AHPT 440, Evaluation and Treatment of Musculoskeletal Disorders. Specifically, the finished product is a series of DVD's to be included as course materials to assist in preparation for practical examinations. A clinician from the Physical Therapy Department agreed to demonstrate the techniques on camera, subjects were recruited, and studio time was booked on campus. Raw data was then loaded onto an Apple computer and edited in stages, including clip sorting, cropping, tagging, audio correction, chapter placement, and multimedia placement (including music). The finished product has been informally noted by the professor to have facilitated excellent manual techniques in students who utilize it, at the expense of patient communication demonstration in practical exams.
