Abstract

Student-athletes are constantly training, practicing, and doing rehab for their bodies. This takes away time that the student-athletes can spend on other aspects of their college career, such as studying, homework, or even meetings. This project was created to help faculty and staff gain a better understanding of the time demands a student-athlete may face on a normal day. The chosen athletes went through three interviews throughout the semester discussing their opinions and thoughts on their academics and athletic training. Overall, the athletes shared the common goals of receiving good grades, performing well in their sport and representing NIU to the best of their ability but were faced with extreme time demands. The interviews had also focused upon the effect the pandemic has on athletic and their lives.
