Abstract
This study included three goals aimed toward examining state and local campaign management: participation in a campaign; research campaign management issues, ass existing programs available for the campaign manager. First-hand experience with a campaign came with participation in a local re-election effort for an Illinois State Representative. The focus of this participation included observation of the organization, fundraising, media contact, and volunteer structure. Practical experience was gained by producing press releases and a press kit for the candidate and participating as precinct committeeman and pollwatcher.
