Abstract
This Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project aimed to establish an ecumenical coalition to address healthcare disparities in a rural community. The project, led by a Faith Community Nurse-DNP student, utilized a health ministry model to foster stakeholder collaboration and collective action. Key objectives included: (1) Developing, implementing, and evaluating the ecumenical coalition; (2) Sharing insights and lessons learned from the project, particularly regarding faith-based approaches to coalition building; (3) Advocating for policies that enhance healthcare services in rural communities. By leveraging systems thinking and evidence-based interventions, the project sought to improve access to healthcare, enhance quality of care, and ultimately improve health outcomes for the underserved rural population.
