Abstract
When designing a sensor system to detect emitters using the scan statistic, it is difficult to compute the probability of detection. Previously, we proposed a procedure to obtain a lower bound for the probability of detection; however, the procedure can be considered computationally intensive. In this paper, we propose a simpler method to obtain the lower bound. Examples suggest that, although our method reaches a looser bound in some cases, it significantly reduces the computation effort to obtain the bound.
