Abstract
This data set was collected as part of Nicholas Leonard's pilot study research in 2018. In order for participants to be eligible for this pilot study they must have met the following criteria: The participant must be a current art student at the secondary level (middle school or high school) who has recently created an artwork using software programs (on computers, tablets, etc) either inside or outside of a formal school setting. All participating students (n=57) were from the greater Chicago area. This study investigated how secondary level art students experience software programs when producing artworks using Flow Theory and the Social Theory of Creativity developed by Ciskszentmihaly. The survey consists of three demographic items (Grade, Sex, ArtLocation), six short answer items (SA1 - SA6), and 16 Likert Scale items (RS1 - RS16).
