Abstract
This work presents a method of treating systems of highly correlated f-electrons with two spin states, which are also hybridized with conduction states. The Zwanzig-Mori projection operator method is used to obtain electron Green's functions. The Green's functions are then solved self-consistently. Numerical calculations were done to determine 1) occupation numbers of the two spin levels of the f-electrons, 2) occupation numbers of the two spin levels of the conduction electrons, 3) susceptibility due to the f and the conduction electrons, 4) amount of hybridization and 5) average total energy of the model system. Finally results and shortcomings of this work are discussed.
