Abstract
In the various science classes which the author of this paper has taught during the past six years, he has found, through observation, oral examination, and written tests, that there have been many difficulties encountered in the reading of science material effectively. By means of oral reading in class and suggestions for out-of-class reading, the author has tried to help his students. In his efforts to help, he has bean handicapped by his own lack of training in reading. He hopes that in the future he will be better able to aid the students, in his classes, who suffer from an inability to read well because of the research he has done for this paper.
