Abstract
This is a chronological history of the schools in Aurora, Illinois from 1835-1935. After relating the history of Aurora from 1832-1836, a chronological history of the early select schools, East Aurora Schools, West Aurora Schools and select private schools, is given. The major concern of this study was a lack of a comprehensive history of Aurora schools. The study also addresses how school philosophy and curriculum were impacted by population growth and people within the districts.
