Abstract
The study was a search for protein differences between normal and buphthalmic rabbits. Electrophoretic analyses of serum, plasma, erythrocyte lysates, and intraocular fluids were conducted measuring proteins and Lactate Dehydrogenase. No significant differences exist in the serum, plasma, erythrocyte lysates, and intraocular fluids of buphthalmic and normal rabbits. Thus the gene causing buphthalmia (bu) apparently does not influence the proteins or LDH of these fluids in the rabbit.
