Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of aging on nasal resonance. Utilizing the Kay Elemetrics Nasometer, nasalance values were obtained from 42 healthy males and females while reading two different reading passages. Subjects ranged in age from 65.08 to 79.83 years and were divided into three age groups spanning 5 years each. Results of this study revealed no statistically significant age effects on nasal resonance.
