Abstract
Serum maternal human placental lactogen, ultrasound measure ments, and risk factors to the mother were used to predict fetal outcome for a high risk population in the third trimester of pregnancy. The ultrasound measurement of estimated fetal weight correlated positively with the serum maternal HPL measurement. Serum maternal HPL measurement may be used to indicate fetal weight but was not of predictive value for infant birth weight.
