Abstract
The synthesis of difluorobis(l,2-d1aminocyclohexane)chromium(III)- tetrafluoro(l,2-d1aminocyclohexane)chromate(III) is described. The cation of this salt is assigned a trans configuration by comparing its simple iodide to that of cis difluorobis(l,2-diaminocyclohexane)- chromium(III) iodide, the preparation of which is also described. The comparison 1s made on the basis of analytical results, conductivities, color, relative solubilities, Infrared spectra, ultraviolet-visible spectra, and the optical activities of the iodides when prepared with optically active ligands. Also described is the preparations of trans f1uoroaquobis(1,2-d1aminocyclohexane)chromium(III) perchlorate, the cis chlorofluorob1s(l,2-d1aminocyclohexane)chromium(III) chloride and the cis bromofluorobis(l,2-diam1nocyclohexane)chromium(III) bromide. The assignment of cis configuration in this last case was made on the basis of color, ultraviolet-visible spectra and a partial resolution of the cis chlorofluorobis(l,2-d1aminocyclohexane)chrom1um(III) iodide with the ammonium salt of d-a-bromocamphor-v-sulfonic acid.
