Suites (Harpsichord)
Abstract
Suite For Harpsichord is a five-movement composition for double-manual harpsichord (2-8' + 4'). Idiomatically written, it utilizes the options and colors of the instrument and the training of the harpsichordist. Based on the concept of the late French Baroque harpsichord suite, this suite echoes those ideals, while using non-tonal harmonies, mixed meters and changing time signatures. The five movements are: Fantasia, Toccata, Gigue, Reverie, Rondo.
