Abstract
Recent FPGA technology allows system integration and prototyping of pulse width modulated (PWM) circuit functions into a single microdevice. This FPGA design generates digital PWM patterns for use with induction and DC Brushless motors. External control circuitry provides phase advance, voltage modulation and shaft position information which modifies the PWM output.
