Abstract

An automatic localized p-refinement algorithm up to p-level three has been developed for two-dimensional domains with quadrilateral serendipity and Lagrangian elements. Multi-block method with transformal mapping technique has been introduced for the quadrilateral mesh generation up to p-level four. Two separate codes have been developed to analize plane elasticity and laser cutting problems using the above algorithms. Case studies and examples are given to validate the codes.
