Abstract
I. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM The purpose of this study is to survey the opinions of American high school seniors in selected cities in regard to American business policies and practices. The opinions will be obtained by use of a United States Chamber of Commerce questionnaire entitled "What Do You Think?" A copy of the questionnaire is shown on pages 49 and 50. II. SUB-PROBLEMS The sub-problems of this study are: 1. What is the extent of any variance of opinions that may occur among the communities surveyed? 2. What is the relationship between the present survey and the other surveys made using the same questionnaire? 3. What is the status of economic education as a subject of study in the American high school as revealed by some opinions in current literature? III. DELIMITATIONS This study is limited to three cities in northeastern Illinois: Sycamore, Elgin, and Joliet. Only high school students in their senior year were given the survey. The survey was made in the autumn of 1958. The related literature cited in this study consists of those articles and reports published from 1953 to 1958 inclusive.
