Amphiboles; Mössbauer spectroscopy
Abstract
Mössbauer parameters of two pairs of coexisting amphiboles were obtained at two different temperatures: room temperature (295 K) and liquid nitrogen temperature (77 K). Ratios of the absorption areas in the Mössbaner spectra were calculated to determine the relative occupancies of either high-spin or low—spin Fe²⁺ ions in the various M₁, M₂, M₃, and M₄ octahedral sites.
