Abstract

The magnetic hyperflne interaction at Fe nuclei in iron rich solid solutions containing 2.25 atomic percent arsenic, 1.79 atomic percent gallium, 2.00 percent germanium, 1.64 atomic percent antimony, 2.08 atomic percent tin are studied, using Mossbauer spectroscopy. In this experimentally oriented paper, data was gathered by a unique method in which the unknown and the calibration were simultaneously measured. No correlation was found between the hyperfine interaction and the bulk magnetic measurements, although the quedrupoler coupling was found to reflect the ionic charge of the solute atom.
