Abstract
A search was made for leukocyte alloantigens not shared by erythrocytes. Donor-recipient pairs were appropriately matched to prevent antibody response to any of the alloantigens of thirteen erythrocyte systems of the chicken. Alloantisera were examined by indirect immunoflorescence for reactivity against cells of respective donors and recipients. Antisera exhibiting reactivity were tested on leukocytes of parents and siblings of the birds constituting the donor-recipient pairs. Patterns of reactivity displayed by the antisera under analysis indicate genetic segregation at at least one leukocyte alloantigen-determining locus among the families of chickens studied.
