Abstract
The enthalpy changes accompanying the following two reactions were determined calorimetrically under constant temperature environments: (1) [(NH₃)₅CoO₂Co(NH₃)₅](NO₃)₄·2H₂O(c) + 0.21OCl⁻(aq) + 0.167Ag(c) + 10H⁺ (aq) 1N HCl(3 parts) & 1N HClO₄(2 parts) 2Co(II)(aq) + 10NH₄⁺(aq) + 4NO₃⁻(aq) + O₂(g) + 0.142AgCl(c) + 0.010AgCl₂⁻(aq) + 0.012AgCl₃⁻²(aq) + 0.003AgCl₄⁻³(aq) + 2H₂O(aq) (2) Heat of solution of Co(NO₃)₂·6H₂O in 1N HCl(3 parts) and 1N HClO₄(2 parts) mixture. ...
