Abstract
Serum proteins of one inbred line of White Leghorn Chickens were electrophoretically separated on agarose gel. Ten protein fractions were resolved. Previous work on sex differences in chicken blood serum is supported. In this work the relative migration values were obtained for a protein peak in the gamma globulin region. These data were analyzed for possible genic control of migration rate for that peak. A good fit of the data was found using a two allele hypothesis, resulting in three phenotypes.
