Heat--Conduction; Diamond thin films
Abstract
Diamond thin films are used in electronic devices and electronic packaging for enhancement of heat conduction. Heat transport in thin films by lattice vibrations can be studied as a radiative problem with phonon carriers. A computational model is developed for solving the equation of phonon radiative transfer. Discrete ordinates method is used to solve the integro - differential equation for phonon intensity to obtain the temperature profiles. Effects of change in grid size and quadrature on the solution are analyzed.
