Abstract
A code generator for the TMS32010 digital signal processor has been developed. The code generator produces TMS32010 assembly language programs for various adaptive filters. Programs for implementing adaptive filters with different specifications can be produced in a short time, resulting in the reduction of the time taken to evaluate the filters. This code generator produces assembly language output by modifying an appropriate source file according to the parameters input by the user. The structures supported are the FIR structure, the HR structure and the Frequency Sampling Filter Structure. A number of adaptive algorithms are available. Also a terminal emulator program for the TMS32010 Evaluation Module has been developed. The Evaluation Module contains all the tools required to evaluate the TMS32010. The terminal emulator program makes the IBM PC act as a terminal to the Evaluation Module. The terminal emulator can also download object code files from the PC to the Evaluation Module. This thesis explains how the code generator and the terminal emulator programs were developed. This also explains how to use these programs. The results of the tests conducted on these programs are also given.
