Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the opinions of school business officials in Illinois regarding the feasibility of state certification for school business managers. In recent years, a major topic for consideration at meetings of the Association of School Business Officials and other workshops, has been the advisability of promoting the certification of school business managers in the several states. This came about because school business managers have developed from two sources, namely, from education and business, with neither possessing all the needed training and experience that go into the job of actual school management. Now the time has come, it would appear, for some kind of a definitive study which would aid in determining whether certification would be a practical solution.
