Abstract

This paper is dedicated to those speech therapists and teachers who are becoming increasingly more cognizant that all aspects of oral communication are within their therapeutic province--that immature articulation may well be accompanied by vocabulary deficiency and that delayed speech may most certainly accompany intellectual retardation. To append a note of Indebtedness and appreciation to Dr. Louis Lerea, the writer's advisor, would be at once to say too little of much. She wishes to acknowledge the generous aid and accommodations provided by the Catholic School Board of Chicago, Father Goedert, Sister Mary Edith, Sister Laurenta, and Sister Incarnata. Finally, the writer expresses her thanks to the children of Saint Adalbert and Saint Ann's Catholic Schools who were cooperative throughout the experimental testing.
