Abstract

"Con Fe the vere otra vez" is a photographic series that documents the struggles associated with immigration. How it causes a divide in the familial construct as one member separates themself to build a better opportunity while sacrificing the opportunity to live a life with the family they were raised with. This work focuses on showing how though separated they still find ways to connect with each other. This series also serves as a way to connect and comfort immigrants and individuals whose family immigrated and remind them they are not alone. In a political climate where Mexican and Mexican-Americans are criminalized and dehumanized this series serves as a reminder of the human struggles and sacrifices immigrants make to even have a chance into succeeding and living the American dream.
