Honors Capstones
For more than four decades, the University Honors Program has enjoyed a proud history of success at Northern Illinois University. Its alumni, who span NIU’s six undergraduate colleges and number in the thousands, are engaged in a broad array of exciting professions across the United States and around the world. They remember fondly the Honors Program’s rich and continuing traditions, from the freshmen retreat at NIU’s scenic Lorado Taft Field Campus to the “Honors House” living-learning community to the Honors Day ceremony for graduating seniors.
Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning
The Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning (OSEEL) is dedicated to providing opportunities for undergraduates to engage in hands-on learning. Through OSEEL's undergraduate research, service projects, themed learning communities, and other high impact practices, NIU students develop critical thinking, use creativity, and employ multiple communication strategies while applying their skills to real-world problems. This collection contains student research materials selected from the annual Conference on Undergraduate Research and Engagement (CURE) as well as student reports from the various OSEEL programs
