Abstract

Analysis of Elementary Teacher Evaluation Plans: The purpose of this study was to review the Illinois state mandates pertaining to teacher evaluations and to investigate how selected school districts developed criteria and interpreted the state mandates. It also investigated the criteria for formative and summative stages of the evaluation process and determined if the mandates applied consistently and fairly across the districts. The study found discrepancies among the districts as to the number of criteria used as well as the interpretation of the mandates.
